El Paso dentist Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj will be providing free emergency dental care to help the under-served in the community during February Dental Health month.

The Free Emergency Dental Care Clinics will be held in each of her 3 dental locations as follows:

Feb. 20th, 2015 from 8am-3pm at 10760 North Loop Dr Ste 3A, Socorro, TX 79927

Feb. 20th, 2015 from 8am-3pm at 211 Texas Ave, El Paso, TX 79901

March 14th, 2015 from 8am-3pm at 1861 Robert Wynn St Ste D, El Paso, TX 79936

Realizing that many people are struggling in the current economy, Affordable Dental Associates’ owner Dr. Darj wants to give residents an opportunity to take care of dental problems before they become more serious, and more costly.

Free dental services, including fillings, dental cleanings, extractions, toothache treatments, and more, will be provided to as many people as can be seen beginning at8am and ending at 3pm, on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Dr. Darj sees many patients a month. Yet, according to her, “We see an amazing number of people who come to us with large dental problems which could have been prevented if they would take simple steps of dental care regularly. This event serves to increase dental awareness in our community as well.”

Dr. Darj considers the cost of the giveaway in staff time and supplies as a “give-back” to the community. “I have been practicing here for many years. This is my home and I like to see the residents here get the help they need.” said Dr Darj.

“I would like to ask everyone to help spread the word to anyone who needs help with his/her oral health and will benefit from the event.” Dr. Darj added.

In addition to the free dental days, Dr. Darj is organizing a special event for the young members of her community too. The Do A Good Deed contest is open to any youth 18 years-old or younger, with the purpose of encouraging the young generation to make correct moral choices in life. Dr. Darj is urging kids to submit an essay about a good deed they did and the winner will be awarded with an iPad.

Laser Teeth Whitening – El Paso Dentist

One of the most popular dental procedures people choose to have is laser whitening. When being introduced to new people, our smiles, and therefore our teeth, are one of the first things people will notice about us. Don’t let stained or discolored teeth stand in your way of feeling confident and social. Instead, having your teeth laser whitened is the perfect solution to this common problem.

Over time our teeth become stained after coming in contact with food and drinks such as black coffee and tea, cranberry juice, soda or tomato sauce among other items. These stains can make your teeth look yellow and dingy, and will draw people’s attention away from what you are saying and focus on your mouth. Luckily, there is a simple and safe teeth whitening procedure that can eliminate these embarrassing stains.

This easy and affordable whitening procedure involves a laser and a whitening gel. First, the clear bleaching gel is applied to the teeth. After the gal has been put on the teeth a laser light is used to activate the gel’s crystals. Once these crystals have been activated they will absorb the energy from the laser and use it to penetrate the teeth’s enamel, whitening the teeth. The length of this procedure depends on the degree of teeth discoloration you have. The best part is that it normally takes only one procedure to have a visibly whiter smile!

El Paso Dentist Continues to Fight Hunger

hdr_branding

El Paso dentist Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj is raising donations for a local food pantry and helping people improve their dental health by lowering their dental bill.

Dr. Darj launched a Food Drive that ended on January 1st, 2015. She invited the community to participate by bringing non-perishable food donations to one of her 3 dental offices. Each person was rewarded with a $39 Dental Cleaning, Exam and X-rays.

Dr. Darj collected over $1000 worth of food, and donated it together with all the money from the dental cleaning special to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger to help people in need.

Due to the great response, the El Paso dentist decided to extend the Food Drive and is accepting food donations until Jan 31st, 2015.

Dr Darj explained, “It is a growing problem. Food demands at the local food pantries have increased and yet food donations have decreased. Food Banks need help all year round I we all can help them together.”

Among the hungry in America is 47 million children. This is very alarming,” said Dr Darj, a dentist in El Paso.

Dr Darj is encouraging her patients to bring non-perishable food donations, and offering the dental cleaning, exam and x-rays for only $39. And all of the $39 and food will go to the local food bank: El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.

When asked why she would give such a discount and donate all the proceeds, Dr Darj said, “Local communities are strong not because of money but because of the free spirit of helping one’s neighbors. In a troubled economy that affects many Americans, if I could get the public to help the hungry families while getting their basic dental work done, why not?

I would like to thank everyone that participated and I to ask everyone who now knows about our program to spread the word to their friends and neighbors. The more people know about this effort, the more needy families can receive aid, El Paso TX dentist Dr. Darj concluded.

Implant Dentures El Paso: Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj, speaks about implant retained dentures. Implant retained or supportive dentures are a type of denture supported by dental implants. When is a dental supportive denture used? An implant-supported denture is used when a person doesn’t have any teeth in the jaw, but has enough bone in the jaw to support implants. An implant-supported denture has special attachments that snap onto attachments on the implants. Implant supportive dentures can be easily cleaned, but it is not recommended to sleep with dentures.

TMJ Dentist El Paso TX, Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj, speaks about TMJ disorders and headache problems. When we are experiencing lower back pain, body tension, headaches or shoulder pain, it doesn’t necessarily mean that there is a problem with the neck, head or shoulders. A misaligned jaw can be the main reason for all these symptoms. A dentist will be the first person to detect this problem simply by checking the mouth. In some cases, individuals have one shoulder higher than the other, misaligned hips, a crooked back, and more. El Paso Sleep Apnea Specialist, Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj, speaks about sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder characterized by abnormal pauses in breathing or instances of abnormally low breathing during sleep. Sleep apnea can cause sleepiness during the day, and can be dangerous for individuals that drive. One of the treatments available for sleep apnea is “didgeridoo” which helps reduce snoring and sleep apnea as well as daytime sleepiness. CPAP mask is another available treatment, which will help individuals sleep for longer periods through the night. Sleep apnea can be self treated. For example, a small amount of weight loss can open up your throat and decrease sleep apnea symptoms. Quit smoking, avoid alcohol, avoid sleeping pills, maintain regular sleep hours, and avoid caffeine, and heavy meals.

Pediatric Dentist El Paso TX, Children’s First Dental Visit, Mehrnoosh Darj, 79936, 79935 Children Dentist

Pediatric Dentist El Paso TX, Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj, speaks about children’s first dental visit. Most experts recommend that you take your child to his or her first dental appointment within about six months of the first tooth’s arrival, or by the time the child turns one. Babies who are bottle fed have a higher chance of developing dental cavities and decay. Baby tooth decay happens when the presence of extra sugar presents in formula milk. This sugar acts as food for the bacteria in the mouth, allowing it to grow and harm the baby’s gums and teeth. It is also recommended for parents to keep their children away from chips, bread, juice, and milk before sleep time. Denture Dentist El Paso TX, Dental Bridge & Dental Crown, Dr. Darj, 79936 Dental Dentures

Denture Dentist El Paso TX, Dr. Mehrnoosh Darj, speaks about the options available to replacing missing teeth like dental fixed bridge & dental crown. The first and most efficient option to replacing missing teeth is dental implants. Dental implants are long lasting tooth root replacements that oral surgeons implant into the jawbone to simulate the root of a pre-existing tooth. Unlike dentures or bridges, dental implants don’t move or shift and they can last a lifetime. Dental crowns are the second option available to replacing missing teeth. A dental crown is a tooth shaped cap that is placed over the tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, and improve its appearance. Dental bridges are the third option available to replacing missing teeth. A dental bridge is a type of crown that is used to fill an empty space between two teeth, which usually occurs after a tooth has been extracted.
